Gbolade led other 9 team members to build a medical record on Blockchain using ethereum and uport for authentication. This project was pitched at the BlockChain Hackathon organised by Fintech Worldwide Ltd in April 2018 and a second prize was won by our team “medblock”.
Medblock is a medical record system built on the Blockchain. This blockchain securely store health records and maintain a single version of the truth. Different medical organizations and individuals — like doctors, hospitals, laboratories, and insurers can request permission to access a patient’s record from the blockchain.
Patients will have more control over who sees their data, while healthcare providers can provide better patient care based on more accurate data.
Each interaction is auditable, transparent, and secure, and will be recorded as a transaction on MEDBLOCK’s distributed ledger.
Enhanced privacy and access control: users can setup access permissions and give certain providers permission to write data to their blockchain.
Real time & Secure Doctor to Patient Communication: patients can share their records, get second opinions, and communicate online with medical professionals through a secure channel.
Robust Licensing of Health Records by Patients: patients can choose to license their electronic health records to different parties for instance pharmaceutical companies for research purpose.
